Andreas Renschler, head of Volkswagen’s truck division, has been appointed chairman for the global manufacturer’s Scania AB business unit.

VW holds a controlling stake in Sweden-based Scania, which builds heavy trucks and buses.

Renschler, born in 1958, began his role at Volkswagen’s truck division in February. Previously, he was head of rival manufacturer Daimler AG’s global truck business until April 2013.

Scania also said it appointed Per Hallberg as its CEO on June 26. Hallberg succeeds former CEO Martin Lundstedt, who is set to become Volvo Group’s next CEO in October, replacing Olof Persson.
