Truck and Engine Makers Raising Payrolls, Production

Three truck makers told Transport Topics they were increasing their build rates, while one engine maker was boosting output and another canceled personnel cuts as demand rises.

Thomas Kieffer, executive director of marketing at engine maker Cummins Inc., told Transport Topics that “sales are growing quite nicely for this market. We expect to ramp up our build rate between now and October.”
