Titan Transfer Acquires Truckload Carrier RRR Express

Titan Transfer Inc., whose CEO Tommy Hodges is a past American Trucking Associations chairman, announced the purchase of RRR Express, a Cincinnati-based truckload carrier, to broaden Titan’s Midwest service offerings. Terms weren’t disclosed.

RRR operates 90 tractors and has annual revenue of about $17.5 million.

“RRR Express has been a well-respected mid size truckload carrier that has provided a high level of service to their customers since 1999,” Hodges said. “This acquisition broadens Titan’s account base and driver pool and will strengthen the Titan brand as we continue to look to the future for growth opportunities.”

Hodges, whose company is based in Shelbyville, Tenn., served for one year as ATA’s chairman, beginning his term in October 2009.

The RRR terminals in Cincinnati and Jacksonville, Fla., will continue to operate.

“This is a great move for Titan,” company president Philip Edwards said. “RRR Express has a strong brand in the Midwest. We are pleased with the account base and the employees that we will be adding to the Titan family.”
