Nu Skin Enterprises, a billion-dollar company, reached a deal with XPO Logistics to handle its global transportation and logistics needs.

The personal care products and dietary supplements provider will outsource the global supply chain to XPO, including transportation management, warehousing and order fulfillment and real-time inventory tracking. “Our growth strategy requires that we transform our supply chain logistics through scale and innovation,” said Brad Morris, Nu Skin vice president of logistics and fulfillment. “In XPO, we’ve found a partner with industry-leading capabilities and the commitment to invest with us.”

XPO, which is based in Greenwich, Conn., ranks No. 3 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.

“We’re excited to work with Nu Skin as the architects of their supply chain logistics transformation. Our team is engineering a technology-rich infrastructure that will be highly efficient on a global scale,” said Ashfaque Chowdhury, XPO Logistics president for the supply chain in the Americas and Asia-Pacific.

XPO will establish a control tower and distribution center in Singapore and handle transportation management and warehouses throughout Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

At the Citi 2017 Industrials Conference, XPO officials noted that while it is not likely to complete an acquisition in the next few months, the company is beginning to see some deal flow.

“This stood out as a bit of a change in tone. XPO would likely focus on a smaller target group of larger deals at this point in its lifecycle ... which could be focused in the contract logistics space. It’s also possible to see some incremental Last Mile tuck-in deals, but the company is likely to be focused on deal sizes in the several hundred million dollars range,” wrote Christian Wetherbee, senior research analyst at Citigroup.
